But a third Summer Games (LA, Atlanta...) in three decades? After US leaders snubbed world opinion for the better part of eight years? Because a popular new president spent a couple hours lobbying IOC delegates in Copenhagen? Up against an emerging world power (Brazil), on a continent (South America) that has never before hosted the Olympics?
