Gustav storm surge

GUSTAV IS A CATEGORY THREE HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCALE. NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS LIKELY BEFORE LANDFALL...

AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS STORM SURGE OF 10 TO 14 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDAL LEVELS IS EXPECTED NEAR AND TO THE EAST OF WHERE THE CENTER OF GUSTAV CROSSES THE COAST.
Storm surge. That is going to be the decisive factor for New Orleans, which will likely find itself to the east of Gustav's eye.

Report was from the 04:00 update. Next full update is at 10:00 AM. And the hurricane is supposed to hit the coast around noon. Updates are here.
