I should note here that Singapore has historically had a fairly cozy relationship with Buma, conducting a significant amount of trade with Myanmar. Also, editorials published in the Straights Times seldom diverge significantly from position of the government of Singapore. Thus, this is a harsh rebuke of the junta from a friendly country.
