An absurd referendum on a new constitution is happening today in Myanmar. This massive logistical effort is being carried out mainly in parts of the country not touched by the cyclone. Rangoon residents are expected to vote in two weeks.
It is expected to pass. Reuters reports that "Of the 20 people Reuters interviewed near polling stations in Hlegu, only two admitted to voting no. Even then it was in a whisper and with a nervous glance over the shoulder first."
